I am so incredibly proud. Very happy. My heart brimming with excitement.
Ratan Tata and his Nano contribution. What an ironical statement.
The nano by no means is a nano contribution though. It is by far a work of advanced technology, very futuristic design, excellent colour scheme, fundu marketing, hyped expectations and it's India's contribution to the world yet once again from the world of Tata.
Ratan Tata already caused a roar in the low to medium automobile market when he launched his Indica in India and then later in South Africa. And now the superbly crafted, cutest looking, vibrant Nano, with immensely impressive technology, performance and price. A car for $2500. How cool is that.
Gosh i am amazed. Not only amazed, but proud and bubbling with the effervescence the Nano has caused, will cause and the prospects of the car. The environmentalist might crib and the Jamie Leather's of the world might cry hoarse with the urban environment going off balance with millions of more cars thronging the crowded city roads, but the Nano is not about that. It is about the millions of Indians who bear the rough weather or unsafe road conditions on two wheelers, a family of 4 jingling the load on a scooty, because the car market never bothered to look beyond price and leather upholstery to arrive at a social solution to transportation. It is about many in the world, who require a 4 wheeled chassis supported transport, comfortable and cheap.
I congratulate Ratan Tata for his commitment to a social cause. And for marketing it in the most chic garb, that the hip and sassy might want to embrace it equally.
