Something evokes this in me everytime...

People who are matter of fact, charged, optimist and idealists excite me in life. But sometimes too much of fact of the matter discussion takes away the beauty of subtle sensitivity, of heart rendering warmth and tender emotions. Practicality is a tool to help shape dreams, it cannot become your dream. Nothing can surpass emotions.

Disgusting disregard and they rather call it love

I wonder what is love. It finally seems to be just self fantasising. Till it suits you, doesn't bother you or irritate you, you go on with it. Finally loyalty, being there for someone is all profanity,a disguise, for sure one day selfishness will overtake all. It happens every time.
I don't have the right to judge anyone based on what they feel or do. They have very innate justifications that work for them. But when I read this blog note , I was disgusted:
Darling,No matter what you may think, I love you and always will. I am so sorry things didn't work out between us but I think it is better that we end things while there is still so much love between us. You have taught me so many things, and I have shared things with you I've never shared with anyone before. Thank you for always supporting me and for always being there for me. Thank you for making me go running, for inspiring me to achieve greatness, for not giving up on me when everyone else had. I believe you will achieve everything you ever dreamed of, and if not with me by your side, with someone else even more wonderful. I hope that one day when we have both healed we can be great friends again. Until then I will miss your warmth and your light in my life. I love you, even if it is not the love you deserve. So if you wake and find me goneHey babe, just carry onYou see I need my fantasyI still believe, it's best to leave while I'm in loveForever,XYZ.

People want to call this love. Sorry I am disgusted. Utterly disgusted to see this posting. Cannot say more. When did love become hyprocital?

Software solution - a source of solution or added complexity ?

Very vital and pertinent point that i am debating with to arrive at my future course of career progression.
An ERP Business Process Mapping consultant for 8 years at the prime of my career, I started off on QAD's ERP solution called MFG/PRO. A medium sized ERP that I have thoroughly enjoyed working on and experimenting with to deliver customised solutions to all my clients. A journey full of learnings - self, business, skills.
I decided to take a deviation to SAP. Learnt it. Tried to practise it. Lost interest. Why?
  • Due credit to the evolved ERP, I had to struggle to learn and practise it as a novice instead of lead on something I knew well. It was a deterrent for sure.
  • The curious George in me seeked answers, but did not manage many intelligent responses in return. The whole crowd seems to be learning the monster.
  • The solution software is more complex to handle than the solution itself. So that is where I hit the nail on the hammer and I said , OK that is it. Doesn't gel with me. I want a software solution that caters as an exact fit with manageable ease, even though it could lack Hi-tech features.

So I am back to what I do best. SAP to MFG/PRO. Many industries have realised it too.

Instilling the wrong concept of Education in India

Education is an ongoing experience. It is achieved over a lifetime. But the base of how you will receive it for life, is laid in the very grounding years of youth. Precisely in school. That experience sets the base agenda for your interest in learning. Period. Tunes your inquisitive instincts for life. Thus the school you attended, your kids attend, the environment more precisely in which they will learn is more important than we probably imagine it to be. It has very far reaching implications ... not for the brand name your kid incurs, the infrastructure he will be exposed to, or the teachers alone.... but for the term called CONDITIONING> for life.
Once the tone is set, the kids can pick on. But how the tone is set, the way it is set, what it encourages, what it discourages, is so critical. I think about it as a 32 year old adult and I realise how those small little things in school build up to define ones character. Character is a direct result of response to exposure. You can control the exposure you want to provide to your kid.
And I cannot stop myself from getting worked up here, when i realise how the basic concept of education in India, teaches kid to study only so that they can get a job. Become a doctor, engineer and more recently added to the list, IT professional. Don't get me wrong, I am all for the contents of the Indian schooling system. But I am against what it instills. A blind copy mass approach to just study to get a job. Instead of an alternative approach to study to learn, to enjoy the experience of knowledge.
Aristotle was asked, " What is the difference between an educated and an uneducated person?"
His response, " The difference between dead and alive."
Taking the concept further, Alive, yes, but alive to experience, to then reason, think, enjoy, learn more and imbibe, Realise your potential and exploit it by learning to make educated informed choices.
The Indian education system instills - Study to grow in your career, pick up a secure job, end up with a big
house and a flashy car. End up with a job you can talk about and feel good about. But what works for one individual, doesn't work for the other. You could be a good dancer, decorator, musician, artist, architect, scientist, writer. But the chunk just ends up as graduates in BE, BA, BSc, B.Ed and the even MA, MS, ME and they study and then study more and yet, all this to just pick up a better job, another stamp for the resume. Even 10 years into post school study and the young adults don't know what they want to do. What a serious condition ? What could be a bigger indicator of the failure of the education system in India ? It is extremely frustrating and the cycle doesn't change or seem to alter for decades now. We continue to produce highly educated people with degrees to their credit, but ask them at 25 about what they want to do, and they don't know. They are at the mercy of the job market to pick them up and start them off. Some could be lucky to be doing what they like and the rest continue to spend 8 hours a day for the next 4o years of their life doing things they were never meant to do. What a bloody mockery of the word education.
Education that is supposed to liberate you and help you realise your potential to exploit and enjoy, it what now binds you into a maze of materialism, insecurity and a set path on what has worked for other people. I do not imply following others people is wrong, but following other people without analysis of what works for you and what dosen't is wrong. And education was meant to liberate, not just conform.

Concept of Pre Nursery catching on India

For all the money you make in India, you can really spend it all. ALL in ALL the pursuits you want to ape from the West World. The cost to glamour and lifestyle is very high. A cook, a driver, a full time maid, a convertible, a club membership, a condominium overlooking the city heights.... India has it all. And I have experienced this first hand. Yet I have paid for it with both my hands.
It is no doubt fun. Enjoying luxury and pampering in India is a class apart. The Best of lifestyles, eat outs, spas, clubs, cars, job, maids and all but at a very dear price.A simple example that made me start to vent this out is the pre-kindergarten concept. A concept where u enroll a toddler in a 10 student group with an educational bent of mind, the kid goes to school with his maid, is dropped and picked up by the driver, learns his shapes, colours and learns to call a black horse - a stallion. Big words like the cow's udder can be heard from a kid at 2 years. But then you think about the expense and money and shosha involved to achieve that. You need a batallion of servants and tonns of cash.
It's a struggle and a lifestyle battle to win this rat race. Yet it's got its own thrills. It was fun when i could do it, be a part of it. But i was scared of adapting to it. I sure wanted it, i could struggle and want more each time, with one thing leading to the other and cost of maintaining it, is not even affordable for the upper middle class.
Well probablly the upper middle class is the one caught up in the real rut of liberalisation. They are tutored or exposed to the best and they can see the options available and they are in the chase to get it all, so they work, yet all is never enough and so the chase is on and the struggles and the fun with it. Liberalisation feeds on the teaming millions that form this upper middle class. That is a market share by iteself to support a battalion of foreign investments.
Alternatively, it comes easy in the US. I dont have the luxury to flaunt it in my relatives, yet i can afford most with minimum struggle. Assume this is basic living standard. Pro: There is no rat race just to flaunt more and more. Con: Yet it is boring without the audience and the company of friends and family.
