Iphone... finally I need to write about it. Have been reading about it. Coincidentally the day it was released was one of the happiest days of my life, for very other reasons, quite opposed to the thrills of voluptuous technology. Articles flood newspapers and magazines and I am getting a craving to buy the gizmo for the feel of it. For just the way it looks, the class it exudes, the well crafted lines of sophistication and the pleasure of owning a hi-tech 'finally arrived' invention. Its the best a phone can get. Apple actually reinvented the phone.
It has many features that everyone can drool about...
I flipped for the following features:
When Steeve Jobs first designed the Ipod, he did it on a piece of soap. That is why that square feel to the product. They carved out the Ipod details on a piece of soap. What an amazing story. And now the same square shape has become a revolutionary Phone, Camera, music system, Internet browser all rolled into one. Maybe another decade they will now reap the benefits from the Iphone. Till another revolution dawns from Apple. Sometimes i find it difficult to describe the feeling of awe, amazement and evolution that engulfs me thinking about the advancements in technology, the possibilities from the undefined.
Though I wonder what good AT&T can bring to the table. But as always proven, Apple should know what it is doing. Though this time i doubt it. They should have tied up with Verizon. But then maybe they will make more money from Cingular than they can from the sale of the product in the initial years and later when they open up the phone post 5 years to another service provider like Verizon, they will rake in the money from the actual consumer market. Wonder if I can resist the product till then, even though AT&T sucks.
It has many features that everyone can drool about...
- The Voicemail, Dial in, SMS features stand apart
- A photo management feature that outruns any other phone
- Internet in your pocket with the screen that itself cost $80 dollars on a device retailing for $450... a major chunk of the cost for 3.5 in wide screen display. Such a pleasure ... clean crisp display.
- Syncs to Itunes and Your computer goes without saying. Some things are so for granted coming from Apple
- All Video play features.
- A mini portable TV on the go
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth , EDGE enabled, goes without saying. Again its an Apple afterall.
I flipped for the following features:
- A flip screen that aligns horizontal or vertical, depending on how the phone is held. Oh how i love the feature. Its slick.
- The multi tasking ability on the equipment... you could browse the Internet, magnify a part of the screen, while downloading mails in the background and listen to your fav tunes. Its amazing. You couldn't possibly conceive of something more to ask for.
- The touch, pinch, flick feature of the multi-touch screen that discards the idiotic pen that accompanies the like of the Treo. I have always found those so weird and pseudo to use. If it can sense the touch of a pen why not my finger tip, has been my logic and so somehow i have always detested the pseudo smart Treos and pen devices.
