So what is catching my fancy today

The colour yellow, not bright sunshine yellow but honey mustard yellow. It seems to brighten any background, especially when used to offset an adjoining off-white wall, pista green carpet, black framed hangings, rich mahogany or dark brown veneer, or just bright floral big printed cushion covers.
I am actually quite impressed with the versatility of the colour.
In the day, the room looks chirpy with the crisp freshness added by potted green plants in white vases and in the night, the room acquires a warm glow against the backdrop of candles and tea-lights.
A definite recommendation for living rooms and dining rooms.
Another really sophisticated colour, which lends royalty and formal understated elegance is, plastered clay colour, towards the darker side. It offsets very well against off-whites, greens, oranges, reds, dark burgundy browns and is really off beat too. This would be the choice, if a touch of formal elegance needs to be reinstated in co-ordination with bronze or copper traditional ambiance or even chic ultra modern straight line furniture. Instead of adding fresh welcoming sunny yellow feeling, this would be a good option for formal modern sophisticated backdrop. Either colors do very well with traditional block print upholstery too.
