For a kid should be at 1 year of age or anytime thereafter. Trust me I didn't know this and for the benefit of new moms, who happen to search on the net for the information, here is some more to it.
So my son is two and a half.... nearly. And his teeth developed decalcification, white is white spots at the base due to baby bottle tooth decay... caused by moms like me who give their lil' brats bottle in the night because it is the most convinient way to get them to bed.
Never again... poor darling has 2 cavities. Can't believe it. Anyway.... have been thinking of taking him to a dentist for the last one year. Finally, I did today only to realise how well they cleaned his little 9 teeth :)). Polished and floride and all the game and the big boy sat through it as if he has been doing this forever. The dentist would tell him to open his mouth wide like a Lion and there goes the baby cub, big and wide open mouth. At home, he screams, hangs by the neck, holds on the toothbrush so i cannot just move it to brush him....but i realised what a mistake....Kids actually ought to be taken for a cleanup every 6 months... if there is such a facility and the moment they have enough teeth to brush, a dentist visit, i would say at 1 year 9 months is due for sure.

This is the sweetest post ever :-) Indeed! Kids always have that extra something that we are either inspired by or wish to learn from!
