I am so incredibly proud. Very happy. My heart brimming with excitement.
Ratan Tata and his Nano contribution. What an ironical statement.
The nano by no means is a nano contribution though. It is by far a work of advanced technology, very futuristic design, excellent colour scheme, fundu marketing, hyped expectations and it's India's contribution to the world yet once again from the world of Tata.
Ratan Tata already caused a roar in the low to medium automobile market when he launched his Indica in India and then later in South Africa. And now the superbly crafted, cutest looking, vibrant Nano, with immensely impressive technology, performance and price. A car for $2500. How cool is that.
Gosh i am amazed. Not only amazed, but proud and bubbling with the effervescence the Nano has caused, will cause and the prospects of the car. The environmentalist might crib and the Jamie Leather's of the world might cry hoarse with the urban environment going off balance with millions of more cars thronging the crowded city roads, but the Nano is not about that. It is about the millions of Indians who bear the rough weather or unsafe road conditions on two wheelers, a family of 4 jingling the load on a scooty, because the car market never bothered to look beyond price and leather upholstery to arrive at a social solution to transportation. It is about many in the world, who require a 4 wheeled chassis supported transport, comfortable and cheap.
I congratulate Ratan Tata for his commitment to a social cause. And for marketing it in the most chic garb, that the hip and sassy might want to embrace it equally.

All the hue and cry are from the so called elite. Car is a necessity for safe travelling on indian roads that was badly needed by middle class. Remember the same cry by the elite and 'intelligent' group when mobile telephone went to masses. They said, it will harm brain. If kept hanging on neck, it will harm heart. Blah! Blah! Its been 10 years of happy using. I am sure the hue and cry is a crucked way of elite group to deny facilities to common man. I use common man and not middle class. Because, once Nano rolls out, they will be available in secondary market for even less. Common man can really afford it OR exchange bike for nano !!
Interesting thought... exchange a bike for a nano. lol. I like that.
I find the idea terrifically apt.
Many industrialists could aim and provide for the comman masses in much the same way, just like reliance did with the cell phones in india.
Its immensely satisfying to see ' finally' a car for common people. And definately a moment that causes such excitement in the junta.
